Nervous man walks up on the stage, brings judges to their feet when he starts to sing

There are plenty of talent shows that are being held each year, and there are always a few contestants that absolutely stand out compared to the rest. The 31-year-old Steve Barry from Kerry, Ireland who recently participated in Ireland’s Got Talent 2018 is most definitely one of them.

When Steve walked up on the stage, nobody expected that he would have such a pure, clear and amazingly powerful voice. He seemed a bit nervous before he started singing, something that clearly disappeared the moment he started performing.

The man was absolutely in his element and he knew it was his time to shine.

Steve, who has experience with musical theatre, chose a fantastic song to showcase his musical abilities, ‘Somewhere (There’s a Place for Us)’. The song which originated from the Broadway musical West Side Story from 1957 seems to be a perfect match with Steve’s crisp voice.

He managed to convince the audience the moment the first notes started hitting, but his performance also builds up over time which makes for a spectacle that has rarely been seen in talent shows like these.

When Steve sings the first and powerful chorus, the four judges are seen swaying hand in hand and admiring the contestant’s beautiful voice.

Suffice it to say, Steven’s rendition of ‘Somewhere’ definitely made a lasting impression. Even though the man was noticeably nervous at the beginning, he gathered enough courage at the end of the song to go visit the judges personally and give them an up and close performance, something they definitely seemed to enjoy.

Steve’s musical talent didn’t only steal the hearts of the judges, but the entire audience was in awe of his great voice as well. As you might expect, the man was met by an absolutely deafening applause and a standing ovation from everyone in the room – including the judges who were clearly excited.

“I wanted more and more. It was fantastic. I didn’t want it to end. What a voice. I can’t believe I overlooked you the first time. That was phenomenal,” judge Denise said.

It turns out that the man actually auditioned for a role in a West End musical, and Denise was one of the judges. Unfortunately, he didn’t make the cut then, but he was glad to be able to amaze her now instead. The man is no stranger to Louis Welsh as well, as he previously appeared on The X Factor.

Naturally, all of the judges praised Steve and he went home with four convincing yesses.

You could definitely say that Steve is a musical star in the making, and he is adored by everyone not only because of his talent but because of fantastic stage presence and his down-to-earth personality as well.

He’s clearly passionate about singing and we can’t wait to see and hear what this man has got in store later on in the competition.

Steve’s audition on Ireland’s Got Talent hasn’t gone unnoticed on the internet as well, as his performance is getting hundreds of thousands of views online.

“Wow… this guy is awesome. He looks about 17 or so but he is just so relaxed the sound just flows from him so effortlessly. Beautiful,” Kathleen Martin wrote.

One of the comments even revealed that Steve isn’t a stranger to giving performances at public places, such as London’s train station.

“Magnificent! Saw you in a London train station and stopped to listen… Absolutely fab… Best of luck at IGT… We’ll be voting for you… Hope you win…” posted Maria Bryne.

Hang on to your diapers: Rugrats is coming back!

Rugrats originally premiered in 1990, following a group of babies — Tommy Pickles, Chuckie Finster, Phil and Lil DeVille, and Angelica Pickles — as they found adventure in the world around them.

Now, 28 years later, they’re coming back, without having aged a day: Nickelodeon and Paramount Pictures have announced a relaunch of the iconic kids’ series with a 26-episode run and a live-action film featuring CGI characters.

“Kids who grew up with Tommy Pickles and the Rugrats crew will now be able to share that experience with their own children,” Brian Robbins, President of Paramount Players, says in a statement.

The show’s original creators — Arlene Klasky, Gábor Csupó, and Paul Germain — will serve as executive producers. The original characters (including Reptar!) will be back, along with a new group of characters.

The upcoming Rugrats movie, written by David Goodman, is scheduled for release on Nov. 13, 2020; it will be the fourth theatrical release in the franchise, with previous movies opening in 1998, 2000, and 2003.

“Rugrats is hands-down one of the most celebrated cartoons in TV history, and we are thrilled for a whole new audience to meet these iconic characters in brand-new adventures,” said Sarah Levy, COO, Viacom Media Networks; and Interim President, Nickelodeon. “What was true in 1991 when the original show premiered is still true today: kids are fascinated with the world of babies. We can’t wait for today’s kids to meet Tommy, Chuckie and pals.”

A spin-off series, All Grown Up! featuring the Rugrats pals as pre-teens, aired from 2003 to 2008.

Nickelodeon has already announced that Blue’s Clues will be rebooted for a modern generation of kids, and two more vintage titles, Rocko’s Modern Life and Invader Zim, are slated to receive specials.

Meet the grown man who lives his life as a domesticated dog

We all have hobbies and while some may be more unusual than others, many would argue that they’re still valid. But what if your hobby revolved around dressing up as man’s best friend in the form of a spotty Dalmatian?

Well as it turns out, there is a whole community of people who enjoy assuming a canine persona. Wearing custom-made costumes, they live life on all fours bound by a collar.

One of these daring and brazen canine impersonators is 32-year-old Tom Peters, who made an appearance on the British daytime TV show, This Morning. While on the show, Peters who goes by the name of ‘Spot’, talked about his peculiar penchant for dressing like a puppy and also acting the part.

He claims that his dog costume helps him to assume the persona of a pup, something he is totally committed to.

As Spot he tries to, as authentically as possible, live his life as a cute, not-so-little pup. He does this by sleeping in a cage, walking on fours, and eating dog treats from a bowl.

It’s a far cry from his life outside of the dog costume as he works as a lighting and theater technician.

He appeared on the show so that he could spread awareness for his rather unique lifestyle and so that he could address some of the misconceptions that people may have about those who assume alternative identities.

«People think of it as seedy and that no one should see it,» Tom said. «But we’re not there to cause mischief, we’re there to have fun and literally be treated like a puppy.»

However, he did suggest that it could be a «catalyst» and «lead on» to other things. «Because you relax and unwind, you could start from being a puppy and lead onto something in the bedroom,» he added.

And guess what — like any other domesticated dog, he has a human companion in the form of his ex-fiance Rachel Watson.

While Rachel confessed that the couple called off the engagement back in 2008 because of Tom’s bizarre lifestyle, she insisted that they are «best friends». She then went on to say that they are closer now than they were when they were in a relationship.

She also admitted that the documentary, The Secret Life of the Human Pups, in which Tom featured helped her to understand a lot more about Tom and why he and others like him do what they do.

Well, for most people in the world, I think it will take more than a TV documentary for them to be able to truly comprehend a hobby that for your average man and woman would be pretty unthinkable.

But then again, in the words of Spot the dog, «We do roleplay as a child, so why can’t we do it as an adult?» Why not indeed, Spot, why not indeed?

I suppose if dressing up and pretending to be a puppy brings Tom joy and a sense of purpose then who are we to judge? Besides, there are plenty of things people will do out of their undying love for dogs. Things that for most of us dog lovers, might have us questioning just how dedicated we are to our own pooches compared to true dog fanatics.

For instance, have you heard about Instagram user topherbrophy? He dedicates his Instagram account to pictures of him and his dog who insist on dressing exactly the same. If this pet/owner relationship is anything to go by, dogs are capable of being more than just man’s best friend, in fact, they’re practically our twins.

Woman’s Facebook post goes viral after Burger King employee does this at the drive-thru

A woman’s Facebook post has recently gone viral, describing an unexpected encounter with a Burger King employee.

In her post, Texas-resident Rebecca Boening explained that she pulled up to the drive-thru window to place an order and began stumbling over her words. After mentioning that she was diabetic, the Burger King employee immediately left her post and surprised Boening with her actions. Read her post below.

Rebbeca Boening

Wednesday afternoon I was driving west on I-40 when my blood sugar dropped to a dangerous level. Luckily a Burger King restaurant was at the upcoming exit. As I stumbled through placing my order I mentioned to the voice on the speaker that I was diabetic and in need of food. Low blood sugar makes it difficult to think or act. I pulled up to the first window in order to pay for my food. I was shocked to see Burger King employee Tina Hardy running toward the front of my car. She squeezed between the front of my car and the building just to bring me a small serving of ice cream. Tina later explained that her husband was also diabetic and she could tell that I needed help. After paying I pulled up to Tina’s window where she gave me my food. She instructed me to park across the driveway so that she could keep an eye on me until I felt better. After eating I waited for a break in business so that I could return to Tina’s window. I then took this picture and spoke with Tina’s supervisor, telling him what she did for me. If you appreciate what this special woman did please share this story. Hopefully Tina Hardy will receive the recognition that she truly deserves from the public and from the big bosses at Burger King.

In a time when our news highlights all the bad in the world, it’s wonderful to see such a kind act between two individuals.

Agree? Pass it on and let us know your thoughts on Facebook.

Best dad ever dons leotard for “Single ladies” dance that’s lighting up the Internet.

It takes a strong man to be a great dad to his daughters… but it takes a truly confident man to squeeze himself into a leotard just to make his daughters happy!

Steve Haddad of Monroe, Michigan, definitely fits into the “super confident” category. Steve’s wife Tina Spadaro Haddad shared a Christmas video of her hubby performing in a living room lip-sync contest with his two daughters, and now the entire internet is cracking up! This guy… this is our kind of dad.

Steve and his daughters chose to perform Beyoncé’s hit song “Single Ladies,” so naturally they had to put on skin-tight black leotards and nude pantyhose, just like Queen Bey wears in the video.

The best part, though, is that Steve does not hold back. He gives the performance his all! He’s got the hip wiggles down pat and his adorable daughters just do their best to keep up with his slick moves.

This is just the latest performance in the annual Haddad lip-syncing contest that the family holds every year in their living room.

This year, Steve and his girls won first place… obviously.

Proving that Steve isn’t the only one in the family who has a terrific sense of humor, Tina shared the video on Facebook along with the caption: “You asked you received……Haddad Lip Sync contest. Stay back girls he’s all mine!!! #BESTDAD #Beyonce #allthesingleladies #christmaslipsync”

The video has gone seriously viral, amassing over 21 million views in just one week. Thanks for the laughs, Steve!

Watch the hilarious routine below, and don’t forget to Rasplove with a great dad who would do this too!

Police officer steals the show in hilarious rodeo dance off

At the 2015 Fiesta Days Rodeo in Spanish Fork, Utah, rodeo clown JJ Harrison decided it would be entertaining to host a dance-off in the middle of the arena. The witty rodeo clown pulled a local police officer from the audience and had a little fun with him. But what Harrison didn’t know was that the officer would totally steal the show.

The cop, Officer Adams, went head-to-head in a dance competition with the rodeo queen. Turns out the guy has some serious moves. The crowd went wild for the officer’s hilarious hip-shaking abilities.

What was equally entertaining was Harrison’s brutal honesty in judging the competitors dance moves. Officer Adams was the clear winner. “You’re sparkly but your moves are horrible,” he said to the rodeo queen.

Pulling someone from the crowd can be risky, because you never know what their personality will be like. Some people get nervous in front of a huge crowd, after all. This dance-off, however, was a hilarious success.

While rodeo clown skits are all for fun, Harrison also shared a serious message. First responders always deserve our utmost respect and appreciation, no matter whether they are good dancers or not.

7 perfumes and colognes every ’80s kid will remember

Just like the flamboyant fashion of the 1980s (hello, color-blocked neons, shoulder pads and costume jewelry!), the scents of that decade were equally bold. A 1988 article in the New York Times Magazine took note of the fragrance trend, saying American women had acquired a taste for perfumes that were “unusually strong and lasting.”

If my own photos from the decade were scratch n’ sniffs, they’d support that notion. They’d smell like the sweet, fruity aroma of Debbie Gibson’s Electric Youth perfume and a not-so-subtle note of Rave hairspray, which was just the sticky reinforcement I needed to keep my permed hair confined in its banana clip.

Listed below are seven scents that were total scent-sations in the ’80s—plus, where you can buy them today. Cue the nostalgia!

1. Electric Youth
These days, it’s common for celebrities to have their own perfumes and colognes. In fact, J. Lo, Britney Spears, Avril Lavigne, Rihanna and Nicki Minaj all have not one — but multiple — perfumes with their celebrity backing. But ’80s pop star Debbie Gibson was an early pioneer of celebrity perfumes, unleashing Electric Youth in 1989, timed with her single of the same name.

The scent: This perfume hits fruity, floral and amber notes, and ’80s babies will remember the neon-colored spring that ran through the middle of each bottle.

Buy it: Electric Youth (1.6 fluid ounces) is $60 on Amazon

2. Stetson
Branded as a cowboy cologne, Stetson’s ads marketed this men’s fragrance with the help of lassos and cowboy hats. The guys at school probably didn’t smell like Stetson, but their dads might have.

The scent: Still in production today, the manufacturer describes Stetson’s scent as woodsy, with a citrus spice and notes of bergamot and musk.

Buy it: Stetson (2.25 fluid ounces) is $16 on Amazon.

3. Obsession
Over the decades, Calvin Klein has made some iconic perfumes and colognes. Remember all the CK One-scented teens in the 1990s? Preceding CK One was Calvin Klein Obsession. The perfume and cologne debuted with sexy ads that pushed the envelope in the mid-’80s.

These days, researchers use the men’s cologne to lure elusive jaguars. No, seriously. A wildlife biologist told The Washington Post that the jaguars like the civetone and vanilla extract scents. (Consider this your PSA to not wear Obsession on your next safari).

The scents: The women’s version was bergamot with notes of mandarin orange and peach. The men’s fragrance was a blend of amber, spice and wood.

Buy it: Calvin Klein Obsession (3.4 fluid ounces) sells for $88 on Amazon. Calvin Klein Obsession for Men (2.5 fluid ounces) is $61 on Amazon.

4. Vanderbilt
Not only did Gloria Vanderbilt make fashionable jeans in the ’80s, she also debuted a popular fragrance in 1982. For even more nostalgia, check out one of its classic ads on YouTube!

The scent: Carnations, rose and spicy florals define this perfume.

Buy it: Vanderbilt by Gloria Vanderbilt (3.4 fluid ounces) is $14 on Amazon.

5. Opium By Yves Saint Laurent
Technically, this iconic scent debuted in 1977. But, it dominated well into the 1980s and is still easy to find today.

The scent: A blend of florals, spices and woodsy notes.

Buy it: Opium by Yves Saint Laurent (3 fluid ounces) is $59 at Amazon.

6. Poison Girl
Bold ’80s fragrances have been making comebacks. Last year, Christian Dior relaunched Poison Girl, though reportedly reformulated the scent so it’s not as intense.

The scent: The latest rendition has notes of bitter orange, sandalwood, rose and tonka bean.

Buy it: Poison Girl (3.4 fluid ounces) is $87 on Amazon.

7. Exclamation
This perfume was launched by beauty brand Coty in 1988 and was packaged in an iconic black and white bottle that was shaped like an exclamation mark.

The scent: Sweet notes of apricot and peach blended with amber and sandalwood.

Buy it: Exclamation (1.7 fluid ounces) sells on Amazon for about $9.

Did you used to rock any of these scents back in the day?

guy pays $800 to get 40+ bats out of his attic doesn’t expect contractors to do this

The most exciting find I stumbled upon in my house was a penny, but David Hill discovered at least 50 bats in his attic. Since David falls into that small category of people who haven’t encountered a huge flock of animals in his home, he decided to find help. He called bat men. The company sent a few guys to take care of the situation, and when they arrived, the story began escalating hilariously.

Hill had a lot of work that day, but the whole operation was so thrilling, he couldn’t walk away from it. To our delight, he had also documented it in an amusing Twitter thread. Not only did he perfectly describe what was going on, the man also conducted a mini interview with the bat men about their daily adventures and the nature of their heroic work. Scroll down to check out the entire thing and let us know what you think about it in the comments.

David Hill was just going about his life when over 50 bats decided to turn it upside down

People were incredibly pleased to read David’s incredible story

I made these comics to compare chinese culture with western culture through everyday life

My name is Siyu. I was born and raised in Beijing, and I’ve spent last 10 years traveling, studying and working abroad in the US, UK, and France. Many people that I met were curious about China, but their impressions of China would end up with words like ‘communist,’ ‘pollution’ and ‘no Facebook.’ While many facts are true, the contemporary, living and multifaceted Chinese life is rarely heard of.

I started «tiny eyes» comics a year ago in the hope of sharing Chinese culture through everyday life, To me, learning about other cultures has always been a fun experience, and I want to pass this feeling to people who are curious about China. In lots of my comics, I compare Chinese culture to western culture. Through comparison, we realise how differently we act in front of the same situation and how we tend to think in a certain way instead of another. In the end, every culture is «weird» in its way, but it’s also the weirdness that makes it interesting.

I post regularly every week, and I share slices of my personal life and experience through Instagram. I hope you enjoy!
